ANNOUNCEMENTS
Senate Bill 190/756 – Senior Citizen Tax Credit
SB 190, also known as the Senior Citizen Tax Credit, is authorized by RSMO 137.1050, was adopted by the State Legislature in 2023. This provides a real property tax credit for certain senior citizens on their primary residence. Due to issues with the original statute, the legislature is now finalizing improvements to amend the law with SB 756, which is currently waiting for the Governors signature for official adoption. Clinton County Officials are diligently researching and working on the implementation plan for the Senior Citizen Tax Credit and the administrative procedures. There is no clear timeline for when this will be implemented in Clinton County at this time. Any questions or concerns can be directed to the County Commission during their meetings on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
September 05, 2024 UPDATE: The Collector will be sending out a newsletter with the 2024 tax bills this November and will have Public Informational Meetings in the Spring of 2025 to assist Seniors in obtaining all the information and assist them in applying for the tax credit.
