Official Custodian of Records for County Commission and Clerk Records

ALL sunshine requests must be submitted to: records_request@clintoncomo.gov

The County Clerk is designated as the “Custodian of Records” for the Clinton County Commission and County Clerk Records pursuant to RSMO 610.023, Section 1, providing identification and location requirements. Such designation does not mean that the County Clerk will necessarily have all records in his possession, but simply is an indication to whom requests for copies of records and information regarding the County government shall be directed. Any official or employee of the County, other than the County Clerk, who receives a request, is directed to inform the County Clerk of the request in a timely fashion so that a proper response may be coordinated as well as documenting all requests through a centralized location. Each county office is responsible for their own records.

Please read through our policy to understand our processes when submitting your requests. PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend you utilize our Sunshine Request Form (below). This form helps us to understand the details of your request allowing us to ensure you receive the correct documents. The form also helps to establish a timestamp for compliance with Missouri Sunshine Law. Thank you for following our standard operating procedures.

“Transparency keeps the public informed.”
