Nothing speaks more true of this community of 1,400 plus people than its pride in their schools, youth, and churches. Patrons of the East Buchanan school district are quick to fill the stands, stadium, or streets for their hometown high school heroes. Few things will bring this community to their feet like the winning touchdown or basket.
Gower is also home to the Gower Goodtimes Hall and Goodtimers. This “family” of musicians has been successful for over 30 years preserving the tradition of old time, traditional, Country, Bluegrass, and Gospel Music. Each and every Friday, the Goodtimes Hall attracts a crowd of followers from all over the region, including St. Joe and Kansas City.
Located on Hwy 169, it is the closest Clinton County community to St. Joseph. But with a grocery store, convenience store, and several other locally owned businesses, many of its residents find their daily needs met. With an active Lions Club and American Legion, a popular city park in the heart of the city and a municipal pool for the families, Gower lives up to its welcome slogan “A Good Place to Call Home”.
