Smithville Lake

Located in the City of Trimble off 208th street is the Honker Cove Waterfowl Refuge. Although it is open to the public there is a season it is closed. That is October 15 to January 31. Many species of duck and geese winter there. Around the lake are American Eagles who nest annually. Depending on the migration season you never know what type of bird you may see. Don’t forget your binoculars.

Plattsburg’s Perkins Park is located off of Highway 116. The park is family orientated with a soccer field and two ball parks. Additionally 3 picnic shelters, 2 play grounds and a beautiful gazebo offer more activities for everyone. Please call 816-539-2148 to reserve a shelter.

Off of Highway C just south of Plattsburg is a great fishing spot. The lake has over 300 fishing tournaments annually. The top three fish caught in Clinton County are Crappie, Large Mouth Bass, and Catfish.

Whether you are Kayaking, Canoeing, or just out to enjoy nature, we have it available for you. Come and have a great day at the lake in Clinton County.
